The coca leaf in its natural form is important to indigenous peoples in South America, who have traditionally chewed and brewed it for centuries. We delve into the Colombian Amazon, following the picking, roasting and grinding of leaves in the daily process of Mambe making, the ritual of the Circle of Word where the sacred plant is used as a technological tool to access ancient archival knowledge held within bodies. The plant acts as the mother, the guide, the oracle, the source of health and nourishment for body, mind and spirit.
